Being born in the United States to a Puerto Rican mother and a Lebanese father, cultural understanding and acceptance has been a strength that I have cultivated for years. My previous experience as an educator in Spain has also given me deep insight into the struggles that can come up when living, studying and working abroad. I know first hand that it’s not always easy to navigate language barriers and cultural differences while creating a home away from home.

As a psychologist, my top priority is to create a safe, compassionate and non-judgmental space for clients to express themselves freely. Working in a clinical setting, I support individuals with difficulties regarding cultural adjustment, anxiety, depression, grief and relationships, in addition to other issues that arise as well.

My background in family and couples’ therapy has also proven to be extremely useful when working with individuals, as this allows me to provide a broader perspective of the challenges clients are facing. However, I believe that a combination of methods and tools is most effective, so I also incorporate techniques ranging from cognitive-behavioral and compassion-based to mindfulness and acceptance and commitment therapy.
